GOING TO SCHOOL
Bridge:- A structure carrying a road or a path across a river, drain, etc,
Pulley:-A grooved wheel around which a rope passes to pull things up or down.

CEMENT BRIDGE 
Q. How is this bridge different from a bamboo bridge?
a) A cement bridge is wide, strong and durable compared to a bamboo bridge.
Q. How many people do you think can cross the bridge at one time?
A. More than 20 people can cross such a bridge as shown in the picture.
Q. If you had a chance, which bridge would you like to use? Why?
A. I would like to use a bridge made of cement, as shown in the picture.

Q. Do you have to cross any bridge on the way to your school? If
yes, what is the bridge like?
A. There is no bridge on the way to my school. But I cross many cement bridges in my city.
Q. Find out from your grandparents, what kinds of bridges were
there when they were young.
A. Only a few bridges made of bamboo or wood were left, when my grandparents were young. Most of the bridges at that time also were made of cement.
Q.Is there any bridge near your house? Find out more about
the bridge.
-Where is the bridge – over water, over a road, between two
mountains or somewhere else?
A. The bridge is over water.
-Who all use the bridge? Is it used by people on foot and also
by vehicles and animals?
A. The bridge is made of cement and steel grinders, so it is used by alll, i.e by people on foot, or also vehicle and animals.
-Does the bridge seem to be old or is it new?
A. The bridge is not very old.
-Find out what materials are used in making this bridge. List
some of them.

A. Cement, stone chips, bitumen, iron grinders, concrete, bricks, sand, iron rods pillars, and piles were used to make the bridge.

Q. Draw a picture of the bridge in your notebook. Do not forget to
draw the train, vehicles, animals or people who cross the bridge.
-Imagine what difficulties there would be, if the bridge was
not there?
A. If there was no bridge over the river, people would have found it difficult to cross the river. They would have used boats to reach their schools, offices etc., which would have consumed more time.
If there was no bridge over the road, people would have walked across the busy road, which could have led to fatal accidents.

A.Yes,I have seen other kinds of boat. Some of them are   Paddle boat, Row boat, Motor boat, House boat.   
Q. Can you think of other ways by which we can travel on water?                             
    A. We can travel on water using motor-boats, ships, steamers, etc.
Camel-Cart
Q. Have you ever sat in a camel-cart or horse carriage(tonga)? Where? Did you climb on it yourself, did someone help you?
A.;Yes, I sat in a horse-carriag(tonga).
Q. Where? Did you climb on it yourself, did someone help you?
A.I sat in tonga while going to my grandpa's home. My uncle helped me to climb on tonga.
Q. How did you feel riding in the cart? Also share your experience in the class also.
A.I enjoyed the horse-carriage ride very much.
